Our Dover white stoneware clay fires to a lush white in oxidation and reduction kiln atmospheres. A unique quality of our clay is its ability to impart traditional orange peel effects in salt or soda kilns due to the sodium in the kiln atmosphere reacting with the alumina and silica in the clay body.

  • Our Flagstone is a blend of two high-iron content clays, ball clays and other materials to achieve plasticity and strength. Additions of grog reduce shrinkage and warping while giving the clay body the ability to hold its shape in forming operations. We have been making Flagstone for many years with great results, and it is one of our most popular clays designed for use on the wheel and hand building projects.
