Workshop: Mold Making, June 8-12, 2015

At Stone Leaf, we are often asked about making molds and learning more about this art. Mold making and pouring ceramics is not what our teaching studio is about, but we love learning from Tony at the Porcelain Place when he comes in to shop with us. It’s with great excitement we can share information about his upcoming summer Master Mold Making Workshop with our readers.

Master Mold Making Seminar

by Tony Tanner of the Porcelain Place

Come visit Colorado in June 2015, for Tony Tanner’s Master Mold Making Seminar to be held at a Creative Corner in Thornton.

Cost: $400, includes supplies valued at $150-$200.

For the first time EVER, Tony Tanner will be teaching a very special, all inclusive 5 day old making seminar. You will start with a glazed earthenware copy of a 4″ tall half doll and learn how to make what is a simple waste mold. Into this mold you will pour special wax for a model and learn to carve the wax to improve or change the detail. You will then use this model to make a final two piece mold, suitable for a production mold line. And last, you will learn how to pour a rubber master over this final mold so that copies of this mold can be produced and sold.

** We understand early enrollment for this class is filling quickly, so we hope you get a spot in the class if it’s of interest to you. Tony is an accomplished mold maker and learning from him will be amazing!**

For more information and/or to sign up contact Tony at 888-368-4123 or by email at ttanner1314(at)gmail(dot)com.
