Going undercover with Underglazes! on Saturday, August 8 from 1:30-4
If you’ve ever wanted to use underglazes but really didn’t know where to begin here’s your chance to learn from a potter who has been doing underglaze work exclusively for more than 33  years. We will play with different techniques, effects and learn the reasons underglazes do what they do. Come and discover the correct way to use this great decorating technique. Students should have a wet or leather hard piece(s) to decorate! (Your castle from the morning castle making can be used too!). Underglazes will be provided. Participants will be able to sample underglazes from Amaco, Coyote, Duncan, Laguna, and Mayco. Bring your favorite brushes. Cost: $35

Flip Your Lid! on Sunday, August 9 from 1:30-4pm
What is the difference between a teapot lid and a canister lid? Why is a ginger jar lid made the way it is? How do you cut a gallery (interior lid rim) in a piece? What’s the best way to use a lid, with a knob or a handle? How do you size a lid for a pot that’s already been fired? Come and learn the many ways lids can be used, learn form and function and how to make lids that fit! This is a demo, question and answer class. Cost: $20
