Electric Kiln Workhop, 10/25/14

If your kiln freaks you out…

If you have a love/hate relationship with your kiln…

If you have kiln anxiety….

Join us on Saturday, October 25 for our annual Electric Kiln Workshop. From 10 to 4, we’ll be here discussing kilns. Why we love them, what to do when they stress us out, and how to have the most successful firings possible.

Feeling comfortable firing your kiln can take may years and firings. Firing can have significant variables from home to studio to classroom, and your kiln manual simply doesn’t tell you everything you may need to know.

Firing can be scary; this class is designed to teach you the things not written in your manual and answer those questions for you. Topics include suggestions on how to load your kiln, troubleshooting, general maintenance issues, and a question/answer session. Our goal is to make you more comfortable firing your kiln.

Ingrid King, Studio Manager and Co-owner at Stone Leaf Pottery has been firing kilns for over 40 years, including gas and electric in home, school, gallery, and college settings.

Cost for this workshop is $75 if signed up by October 10. After October 10, cost is $85.  Pre-Orders of our How to Fire Your Electric Kiln Book will be offered at a discounted rate during the workshop.

To sign up, call Stone Leaf Pottery at 303-463-8081

OH YEAH… and if you’ve purchased a kiln from us in the last 2 years… Admission to this workshop is FREE to you, but you do need to call and sign up, as spaces are limited. If you are a teacher, we suggest you check with your District Art Coordinator as this class may count as continuing education.
