The annual Colorado Art Education Conference will be November 12-15 in Brekenridge and I am excited to be a first time attendee, working at Stone Leaf Pottery’s booth in the Vendor Hall.
I started working at Stone Leaf in September 2013 as Ingrid’s studio assistant. That’s just over two years on the SLP crew (time flies when you’re having fun, huh?)! However, as I’ve moved in to working in the store more recently I’ve had a lot of customers asking “Are you new here?”. So, the answer is “YES!”, and also, “NOPE. But hello, hello if I haven’t met you yet!”
That being said, one thing I am new to this year is the Colorado Art Education Association Conference. For those of you that are veterans attendees of CAEA, you probably know that you can find Ingrid, Sophia, Kylle, and Gita holding down the Stone Leaf Pottery booth every year. You might want to get a drum roll going here… because this year they are mixing it up and taking me along with them!. We’ll be there with the usual loot; an assortment of our favorite clay tools and toys for sale, and our set up for this year’s selection of the ever popular “Make and Take” projects:
Balloon Glazing – Sponsored by AMACO
+ using cone 05 Teacher’s Palette glazes
Easy Footed Vessels – Sponsored by Laguna
+ using Los Altos clay
Wall Pockets – Sponsored by Mayco
+ using sprig molds and texture mats
and… CATS! – Sponsored by AMACO
+ using Velvet Underglazes
CAEA this year will be held November 12th-15th at the Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, CO. So if you’ll be attending and we haven’t had a chance to get acquainted at the shop, stop by the Stone Leaf Pottery booth and say “Hey”! While technically they are free, I will be there, accepting high fives in exchange for Make and Take demos.
See you next month!
