One of the tenants I know to be true about the pottery world is that it is full of creative people, most of whom have another love in their lives beyond clay. Our community are potters as well as photographers, knitters, singers, painters, athletes, travelers, and film makers.
My morning started with a darling friend sending me an email about NCECA and when was I free to meet? We are trying to plan a lunch, some cocktails, or something! I have to figure it out fast – my NCECA schedule fills quickly.
Mom and I are heading to Wisconsin in just 2 short months and the anticipation is building. For me, this NCECA is going to be a blast on so many levels. Mom & I will be spending a few days in Milwaukee prior to the conference to be with family… then the clay craziness starts.
Just got back from a busy fun filled couple of days in Portland, hanging out with the crew from Skutt Kilns. At Stone Leaf, we love to go visit our manufacturers; it provides us so much more information to share with our customers when selling pottery kilns and supplies. For years, we’d heard rumblings of this fun thing called Skutt School in Portland, and this year, Dad & I headed to Portland to hang out with the people from Skutt.
